PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
May 2010

Thanks to everyone who rode in Pride this year. It was a huge success and, as always, we led the way down Fifth Avenue with style and exuberance.

Special thanks go to:
Heritage of Pride, for organizing the whole event despite the complications imposed by the new restrictions on parade routes.

Sandra, for overseeing the staffing of the bar at the Rapture on the River Dance.

Everyone who helped staff the bar. The tips were really thin this year but with the money we get from HOP we've got a good start on funding our 25th anniversary celebrations next year.

Alyssa and Linda, for handling the registrations and passing out the permits at the beginning of the march.

Randi, for donating the use of her car as the follow van.

Elba, for driving the follow van and trying hard to get everyone to collect their helmets at the end.

Georgia, for lining the bikes up in groups during march formation and directing traffic as we moved on to Fifth Avenue.

Armen, for helping everyone prep their bikes for the march.

The marshals who worked so hard and carried our banner with pride.

Perri (Randi's partner), for driving back to Morton Street when three missing bikers arrived late to collect their helmets for their ride home to Connecticut.

Cheryl, for risking arrest to keep the motorcycles from getting too far ahead of the rest of the march and for getting Camrod Motorsports to fully sponsor the food at the end of the march.

Christine Cuisine, for making a fabulous and extremely welcome feast for the end of the march.

A special thanks to Camrod Motorsports for sponsoring the food at the end of the march. Please show your appreciation.

And thanks to Sirens everywhere. All of us are part of the tradition and the success of NYC Pride.

Next year will be our 25th anniversary and our 25th year leading the Pride March. I will no longer be president then, but with the Sirens leading the march Pride 2011 will surely be a celebration to remember.
