IMPORTANT NEW INFORMATION ABOUT RIDING IN THE PARADE

1. NEW MEETING PLACE: Pier Gourmet Deli, 721 11th Ave, New York 10019 At 51st Street 9:00 am
(the Pom Pom wanted $1000.00 to open for Pride! Forget that!) 11th Ave and 51st Street is THE staging area for the motorcycles. YOU WILL NOT GET INTO THE PARADE IF YOU DO NOT MEET US HERE. We will be escorted right onto 5th avenue from this location and the road will be closed behind us by the police.

2. NEW MEETING TIME: 9:00 am!!!! Go to the registration table to pick up your parade vehicle registration permit. We have over 150 bikes to register in one hour. Please do not come at the last minute and jam the registration table. We will start closing the registration table at 10am. The early meeting time is a result of HOP wanting the bikes in place in the parade line-up by 11:00am. That means we must have our bikes registered, gassed, and decorated for the Police escort leaving 11th avenue at 10:45am.

3. RIDER MEETING 10:30am.
Please attend the rider meeting at 11th Ave. This will be the only opportunity to get last minute information about the parade.

4. FIFTH AVENUE FORMATION:
The police escort will deliver us to 5th avenue. HOP has asked that we park together tightly and fit all the bikes between 52nd Avenue and 54th Avenue; AND that the group park to the right, leaving a vehicle lane open on the left or EAST side of Fifth Avenue. Once the parade begins we will ride 4 bikes across and leave only space for police bikes and marshals on the left and right.
5. GAPS: Last year HOP reported a problem with gaps within the motorcycle contingent. Gaps delay the rest of the parade and throw the motorcycles off schedule. The gap was so large that some bikes arrived at Bleeker Street late for the moment of silence, obviously creating noise as they arrived. This is unacceptable. Groups or clubs may leave a ONE BIKE GAP between themselves and the group or club ahead of them. HOP has informed us that any group or club that creates a large gap within the motorcycle contingent will not be allowed to enter the parade next year.

6. MARSHALS: We have a great crew of marshals for this years parade. They have volunteered to keep pace with us on foot and assist us throughout the parade. They will help bikers with a push if you stall, They will help lift your bike if it goes down, and they will be offering water and sunblock. MOST IMPORTANTLY they will communicate speed / pacing information to the motorcycle groups and clubs. Keep an eye out for them and listen to their instructions as they pass by.

7. BE LEGAL: Have your license, registration, and insurance card with you. NYPD checks our paper work. Bring helmets.

8. BE SAFE: No booze, drugs, or stunts. Make sure your bike is mechanically sound.

Please arrive at 9:00am at the Pier Gourmet Deli, 721 11th Ave, New York 10019 At 51st St. Phone: 212-397-6075

Clubs always ride together. Wear your colors!

Hints: Dress for extreme heat. There is no shade. Bring water and sunblock.

Shorts look great, but those pipes get really hot after 3 hours.

Prepare to have more fun than you thought possible!

The Sirens women's motorcycle club of New York City looks forward to riding with you!
